NWA, Niggaz Wit Attitudes, is a hip-hop group native of Compton, a suburb South of Los Angeles, that has popularized Gangsta rap style. Although the style of the group is controversial because of its vulgar lyrics, it has more than 10 million records sold in the United States. In October 2012, NWA was named for the first time at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame… But there 7 dark facts about NWA you need to know.

All five members of N.W.A. were abused by law officers at an early age… In fact, in 1991 Rodney King was severely beaten by a Los Angeles Police officer, which was caught in Camera.

Although the movie seems to portray women positively, N.W.A has some lyrics which explicitly preach dislike, despise, prejudice against women.

Some of those tracks that have misogynistic characteristic include “To Kill a Hooker”, “One Less Bitch”, ” Findum Fuckum & Flee” and “A Bitch Iz a Bitch.”

Dr. Dre received the news of the death of his brother Tyree from his mother late at night while he was on a tour with N.W.A. As you can see in the movie, Tyree death seriously impacts his life.

After the release of Straight Outta Compton album, “F— tha Police,” the FBI sent a priority letter to N.W.A. on Aug. 1, 1989. *** The formal letter was written by Milt Ahlerich, assistant director of the FBI office of public affairs, and states the following:

“Advocating violence and assault is wrong, and we in the law enforcement community take exception to such action.”

In 1991, Dr. Dre was accused of assaulting Fox TV’s “Pump It Up” host, Dee Barnes. According to Barnes, Dre picked her up and “began slamming her face and the right side of her body repeatedly against a wall near the stairway.”

…The producer denied the accusation, claiming he simply pushed Barnes through a door, which was later confirmed by MC Ren and Eazy-E.

Although often neglected in the legacy of N.W.A., The D.O.C. played an extremely useful role in making the group what it is today…

Five months after his debut album, “No One Can Do It Better” in 1989, The D.O.C. was almost fatally injured in a car crash, which serious damaged his vocal chords.

On Feb. 24, 1995, Eazy-E was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. At first, most people had thought he suffered from asthma complications.

But the condition was much worse, the star was diagnosed with AIDS, which would to his death on March 26, 1995.

Before his death, Eazy-E did repair all disagreements he had with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and others. RIP!
